Montreal Printed Arts Festival

The 2nd edition of the Montreal Printed Arts Festival was organized by ARCMTL in partnership with Atelier Circulaire and Zocalo. Studio visits, demonstrations of printing techniques, exhibits, conferences and a print fair were all free to the public.
The Montreal Printed Arts Festival’s programming was centred around its HQ at the WIP (Work In Progress), 3487 St-Laurent (accessible), where there was an exihibit of works by Marilou André and Galerie galerie (April 12-14), a presentation about augmented reality and its possibilities for printed art (April 12), Grande print art fair (April 13 & 14) a Pecha Kucha-style evening of artists’ presentations (April 12), a collaborative poster-making workshop with with Possibles éditions (April 13) and a print workshop for children with Perte de signal and Alexandre Quessy (April 14).
Activities were also held at various partner venues over the ten days of the festival: exhibit and performance by Emma-Kate Guimond at Arprim (April 6), visits to the collections of print art at the BaNQ in Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie (April 8-9), Artexte on tap (April 10) and the launch of a special project by Ileana Hernandez in the display windows of L’imprimerie (April 11). Also, the Zocalo art centre distributed special zines throughout the festival created during a workshop given by Myriam Tousignant, Mélodie Vachon Boucher, and finally,Collectif blanc curated an online exhibit for the festival.
The Montrael Printed Arts Festival and the Grande Print Art Fair were made possible in part thanks to the support of the Canada Council for the Arts and the Conseil des Arts de Montréal.
